QR Code Method
This method is helpful for cellphones or any other QR-scannable device.
1. Locate the Router
- Locate the router in the apartment; it should be in the living room.
- Look for the sticker with the Wi-Fi network and password. It is on the top of the router.
2. Scan the QR Code
- Open the camera app on your phone. You can also use QR scanner app.
- Scan the QR code pictured on the router.
Traditional Method
This method is helpful for laptops, computers, televisions, and more.
1. Locate the Router
- Locate the router in the apartment; it should be in the living room.
- Look for the sticker with the Wi-Fi network and password. It is on the top of the router.
2. Log into the Wi-Fi
- Locate the Wi-Fi settings on your device (phone, computer, TV, etc.).
- Find the Wi-Fi network listed on the router.
- Enter the password listed on the router.
3. Check Wi-Fi Signal
- Check the signal on your device (phone, computer, TV, etc.) by running an internet application. You can also use a Wi-Fi tester such as www.speedtest.net
Dorm
1. Log into the Wi-Fi
- Locate the Wi-Fi settings on your device (phone, computer, TV, etc.).
- Locate MBTS-Dorms from the list of available networks.
- Enter the Dorm password.
- Click Connect/Save.
Router Guidelines
- The I.T. office provides tenants with a Wi-Fi and ethernet router at no cost.
- The tenant shall not modify the physical device or the configuration of the router.
- If the router is modified, damaged, or lost, the tenant will be charged a $75 replacement fee.
- If a tenant purchases third-party internet service, they must receive prior approval from the Director of I.T. The Tenant must also return the MBTS-owned router to the I.T. office.
